Second in the wizards saga

Picking up a few years after Love Lust and the Apocalypse right after the destruction of Pentarch the first half of the story follows Marlina Tendrith, wielder of the Sword of Dragons as she searches for Lorac to gain revenge on what he did to her family, friends and home. She drags along the other champions with her nearly neglecting her duty. So involved in her quest for revenge, she makes mistakes that causes the death of one of her friends and fellow champion, Darian.

Also, taking place a thousand years later, Alec Troven finds himself on trial for being the first element wizard born in a thousand years. Laws had been created to prevent another Lorac by declaring that any element wizard should have their powers bound. This is worse than murder and 80% of all wizards bound (for other crimes) commit suicide. Alec and his siblings scramble to find a loophole or a way out of this.

Alec's lover, Jono the Oracle, wants to take their relationship further by making Alec his official consort. Alec isn't sure as to why Jono wants to do this or if he wants to do it at all.

The second half takes place mostly in the land of the Fey where Marlina has to surrender her sword and train Alec to become worthy of weilding it. Marlina finds Alec frustrating becuase he, while bright and powerful, doesn't seem to be able to learn the basics of his magical abilities as an element wizard.

Eventually Alec does prove himself worthy which gains him the needed loophole to prevent him from having his powers bound as well as freeing Marlina from her duties to give her a chance to freely seek revenge.
